Our family name originates from a settlement and farm on the island Hamarøy in Nordland county, Northern Norway, called Korsvik.
The last ones that lived on this old farm that had no roads connecting it to the outside world left in the year 1966.
In the year 1992 my wife and I got married, and the Korsvik name became ours to share.
In January 2016 the farm with all the acres of forest and land was sold.
To read more about the farm, the persons that lived there and their lives you can order the 2015 edition of the yearbook for Hamarøy from Hamarøy Historielag.
In July of this summer we hiked over to the old settlement, the farm and the beach in Korsvik. The new owners are doing a fantastic job of clearing the forest , building new houses and maintaining the property.
A short videoclip from the seaside in Korsvik can be seen here. It is a truly beautiful place.
